My mother in law was obliged to stop driving and so we had the job of trying to sell her car. We live in London and mother in law lives just outside Bath. We met Mr Hobbs whilst we were having the car valeted. In a random conversation, I asked if he wanted to buy the car or if he knew anyone who would. He inspected the car and we immediately agreed a price. We couldn't find the log book or service manual, at the time, but having checked the MOT, insurance and tax, gave us the agreed price and took the car. He trusted us to hand over the documents when replaced and found, (which we did) and the whole business was dealt with in a totally fair and efficient manner. Mr Hobbs was extremely pleasant and helpful throughout, when he could have been very dogmatic and distrusting of us.
I gave him 500 deposite in "good faith" his words to reserve the car.He turned up with the car which was not HPI clear. I of course would not buy it He refused to give me back my money back.He has since promised to give me my money back but has failed to do so.I have taken him to the small claims court. He did not try to defend himself. he now has a CCJ against him., I believe he is an undischarged bankruptHe is full of liesAVOID HIM LIKE THE PLAGUEMy advice is to contact the Police, Trading Standards and the Motor Ombudsman.The sooner this man is put out of business the better.
VERY BAD NIGHTMAREI am Maltese citizen my wife Joanne have forwarded a payment of 5500 euro to buy a second car from UK citizen Daniel Hobbs automotive LTD.(company registration No. 10369599). When he received the payment he told me that the car has a defect so I asked him to refund us the money.Now it is more than one month that we are still waiting for the refund.We are still waiting for some form of replay . I have forwarded the payment because I thought that I was trading with a gentleman but I was totally wrong.I hope that this is not a fraud !!!! Time passes away and we do not know anything about our money because Daniel do not even reply to our emails.We are trying to contact Daniel but he is not replying our emails and I am getting worried since we gave him 5500 euros, incredible situation.Congratulations for your new showroom hope you have time and money to refund us our money.We are still waiting know this is the fifth week that we were promised our savings back. It is unbelievable what is happening!!!daniel stop lying to us and forward our money back.your actions will have serious repercussions. It is incredible how you can defraud a family with small children.....Another day had passed and we are still waiting our money.you promised that the refund will be done straight away , 6 weeks ago. keep up with your promise.Beware of this person he took our money and now we are going to additional legal expenses.
This company just tells lies and that's about the size of it. Don't fall for this nice guy image and believe everything you read in the reviews on here!!! They will fob you off and eventually just start to ignore you. Even 1 star seems generous
If you would like a friendly straight forward process of buying a car that is honest and trustworthy, please, please look elsewhere. If however you like to be taken on a journey of lies, deceit, ineptitude as well as rudeness then this is your man.I bought a car from him months ago and have only just about had some form of closure. It has been a nightmare from start to finish. I was promised a car that had a full 12 months MOT, a warranty, a brand new service, a thorough check over with any issues rectified and a full valet and would have the vehicle delivered to me in amazing condition and I would be thrilled with it. What I got was a car delivered to me in the dark and a bloke who could not disappear quick enough. In the daylight there was trim hanging off all over the place, gear knob fell of in my hand, no warranty and no service and it had not even been valeted. My old car was taken in part ex and as it was on finance I gave them the settlement figure but they didn't clear the finance so I had to pay it on both cars for a month. After a lot of badgering I eventually got that back and 40 to pay for a valet and for the hassle apparently. I had to pay for the service myself then spent weeks trying to get the money back for it. I also endured being sent abusive and insulting messages from a person who says he is the nicest person you could meet. I was called uneducated (spelt ineducated in the message, I think that speaks for itself!) and was told I was not to put a bad review up, well sorry but I think that being honest is a lot more important than the ramblings of an inept dodgy car sales man.I felt like they were desperate to get a sale and promised the earth to get it, but delivered us a headache. I have also had engine management lights come on the dash board and the battery was faulty. He has told me to book it into a local garage and send him the bill but I don't see the point as judging by the service fiasco i will never see that money again and so I am another 188 out of pocket to have it fixed. I also had to pay the tax on my old car for 2 months until they sold it as they didn't go online and register they had acquired it. So all in all the 20 left after paying for the valet is not quite going to cover it.Most people will ignore reviews but all I will say is if you are going to buy from this guy please be careful and if you start to have doubts walk away. There are plenty of other dealers out there and you should not ever have to just put up with a bad customer experience.In response to Daniel Hobbs, I never asked for the trim to be replaced he offered then never delivered. and regardless of the car or cost of it, it's about delivering on promises made and customer service or lack of it in this case.
